Everyday we see things that we do not want to see. We feel things that make us uncomfortable. We miss people we left behind. We crave food that we haven’t eaten in months. We hear things that we don’t understand. Then why in the world are we even here? I can give you many reasons. 108 good reasons. For that is the number of orphans that we serve here at Lulwanda Children’s Home. Each one of them gives us a reason to be here. A reason to love.
So, what can you do with 108 brothers and sisters anyway? Or 108 children? Pretty much anything you want or imagine. Just take a look.
Have a slumber party:
Teach them how to play a silly, new game called mini-golf:
Celebrate accomplishments like completing P7 exams:
Teach A LOT of swimming lessons:
Attend MANY parent-teacher conferences:
Learn to build new things like a mud hut:
Or how to hold a hedgehog:
Go shopping in town:
Visit lots of secondary schools:
Have many people willing to push you on the swing:
As you can see there are plenty of things to do with 108 siblings (or children).
But we also seem to find just as many things to do with just the 4 of us.
This was our first Ugandan pumpkin carving:
